Ahmadiyya Muslim Community to Inaugurate its First Mosque in Minnesota

U.S. Congressman Keith Ellison will deliver keynote address

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA will inaugurate its first mosque in Minnesota, named Nusrat Mosque, in Coon Rapids. The Honorable United States Congressman Keith Ellison will deliver the keynote address. The inauguration is open to the public.

“In a time when most Americans have never met a Muslim, we invite all Americans to join us in this celebration,” said Dr. Nasim Rehmatullah, National Vice President for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA. “We believe this mosque, which is open to all people, will foster a spirit of community with neighbors and establish inter-religious harmony and peace.”

A mosque is an Islamic place of worship for Muslims to gather and worship God. This mosque will have space for men and women to worship, to hold events, and will also have spiritual training classes for children during the weekend.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA invites all to attend this special occasion. Please RSVP by contacting nusratmosque@gmail.com or call (612) 804-9519.

    About Ahmadiyya Muslim Community:

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is a dynamic, reformist and fast-growing international movement within Islam. Founded in 1889, the Community spans 206 countries with membership exceeding tens of millions. The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, established in 1920, is among the first American-Muslim organizations.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the only Islamic organization to believe that the long- awaited messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908) of Qadian,
India. Ahmad claimed to be the metaphorical second coming of Jesus of Nazareth and the

divine guide, whose advent was foretold by the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad. The Community believes that God sent Ahmad, like Jesus, to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed and reinstitute morality, justice and peace. Ahmad’s advent has brought about an unprecedented era of Islamic revival and moderation. He divested Muslims of fanatical beliefs and practices by vigorously championing Islam’s true and essential teachings.
